Monday, November 25: I got up this morning, ran a few miles, had a cup of coffee, and then spent three hours grocery shopping for a week’s worth of food for a house full of guests. You’re jealous, aren’t you? Putting groceries away is not my favorite task, but it must be done. Sometimes, I like to put items in strange places, like cereal in the refrigerator or a can of black beans in the snack drawer. Yeah, I know… I’m such a rebel.
Once all the groceries were properly stowed, I had lunch…after grocery shopping, I was famished. I texted Rob to ask about something for the Thanksgiving service, and he kindly reminded me I have a newsletter article due.
Why is Pastor Justin just writing about what he did? HARDLY the best newsletter article ever written!
I know, right! But you’re reading it.
I think I’m writing this article this way because Trinity is a place where we can be silly, serious, and everything in between. I appreciate how this community shows up and holds space for our messy human relationships to thrive in this sacred place. Being in community can be hard and rewarding. I am grateful to be your pastor, to co-create with you and the Holy Spirit something life-giving.
So thanks y’all. Keep up the good work you all are doing, the work that I am sure sometimes feels too hard to do, the work you wish someone else would take up. Remember, you can lay down your shovel sometimes; we’ll pick ours up and give you a hand.
Oh, now see, he’s referencing something he said in a sermon I hardly listened to. That’s not fair…KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE, dude!
And with that…Best Newsletter Article Ever Written DONE!
Peace – Pastor Justin
