Feed My Starving Children is an organization that provides much needed nutritional food to people in underdeveloped countries.  Trinity volunteers there multiple times a year.  It is a wonderful opportunity to give back for the many blessings you have and it is a great educational experience for children.  For more information – www.fmsc.org

Christmas Sharing is a community activity that several churches in the area participate in. Trinity gets many people involved in the effort. About two weeks before Thanksgiving the confirmation students go door-to-door distributing a list of items to be donated for Christmas stockings for needy children. Two weeks later the students go back to the same area and pick up the items donated by the residents.

Our congregation participates by bringing in items from the list as well. Then the task begins to create bags for each child based on their age and gender. These bags get distributed before Christmas.

More information about our prayer shawl ministry coming soon.

Witness at Trinity is heavily intertwined with activities of Service, Community and Spiritual Growth.  Providing opportunities to share the love of God through community activities is our primary goal.  Getting the word out to the community about our activities is key.  Here are a few ways that you can hear about what we are doing articles that go into the local newspapers, signs in local businesses, Facebook and the event calendar on our website.

During the Warrenville 4th of July Celebration, Trinity collects non-perishable food and money for the Warrenville Food Pantries.  The Neighborhood Food Pantry is located in the parking lot of Immanuel Presbyterian Church.  The food collection is done during the parade which many years has featured a float from Trinity that follows the parade theme.  Walkers that follow along with the float collect food and money donations from the spectators.  In addition, Trinity has manned a booth at Cerny Park during some years of the festivities selling candy, trinkets and toys with the proceeds going to a variety of groups in Warrenville and the surrounding area.  Groups that have received proceeds include Warrenville Emergency LEAF, Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity and WYFS (Warrenville Youth and Family Services).

Trinity has presented a Live Nativity the 2nd weekend of December for the last 20 years. A large number of the congregation is involved in making the Live Nativity a gift to the community. It is a family event where you can sing Christmas carols, see live animals and watch the Christmas story unfold. You can share in cookies and hot chocolate at the conclusion of the story.
There are many ways you can get involved in the presentation. You can:

  • Sing in the choir,
  • Be a cast member,
  • Set-up for the performance,
  • Clean up after the performance,
  • Prepare costumes,
  • Handle lights and sound,
  • Donate refreshments or work the refreshment tables after each performance,
  • Publicity,
  • Greet visitors
